make your own art

When I was in the planning stages of my bedroom redo, I couldn't figure out what to put on either side of my bed. After thinking and pondering -oh the hard work of coming up with an idea for bedroom art :) I came up with an inexpensive and easy idea.

The panels were made using fabric and canvas stretchers.  These are frames to stretch canvas found at Hobby Lobby in the canvas aisle.  They come in many different lengths.  These are 18 inches and 30 inches.  They cost approximately $1.50-$3 a piece.

I put them together to form a frame...

then stapled each junction together for strength and painted the entire thing white.

I then cut some fabric (from Joann) out very precisely :) and hot glued it to the back of the frame.

I used 3m velcro stips to attatch the frames to the wall.  One tab goes on the art, one tab goes on the wall and as if by magic, they stick together and hold up the art.  I am a chronic redecorator and these little babies save me from having to fill in nail holes.  I attatched one set of 3m strips to each corner.

Here is a close up of what it looks like on the wall.  Not too bad for less than $10.

Here is what the pair of them look like in the room.
