Soft and fluffy pumpkin chocolate chip cookies

While the temperatures in Tennessee are not quite fall like yet,
as soon as September hits,
I can't wait to start baking and making delicious sweets!

One of our family's favorite treats is
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies!

I'm sharing our not-so-secret family recipe with you.

Everyone has their own ways to make cookies,
with tried and true tips that work for them.

Here are my top tips for making
Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies!

The first thing I start with is butter.
I always use real butter.  Yum!

Butter needs to be room temperature when making cookies.

Well- what do you do if it's straight out of the fridge?

SOFTEN it in the microwave.

I put it in the microwave for 5 seconds.
Then turn the stick to another side and put it in for 5 more seconds.
Repeat until it's softened.

It works really well!

Another tip is to put all of the dry ingredients into a separate bowl
and whisk them together.
Then add them to the wet mixture a cup at a time
until it's well incorporated.

To drop cookie dough onto baking sheet,
I like to use a cookie scoop. (amazon affiliate link)

These cookies are so soft and fluffy.

They stay soft very well.
Not that they ever last long enough in my family to go bad!
