Branches and Bats Halloween Table Centerpiece

Learn how easy it is to make a Halloween Table Centerpiece with branches and bats.

When I was searching for branches and twigs for my twig brooms, I found a few more and decided to make a table centerpiece.  It was a super easy and CHEAP way to make a fun Halloween centerpiece.

Halloween table centerpiece - branches in a jar with black beans

I stuck the branches that I found in my yard in a crusty old jar that I had in my stash.   To get the branches to stay up right, I added some dried black beans.  Yep - you read that right - they are dried black beans that you can buy in a bag from the grocery store.

I hand drew a simple bat.  (You can use the pattern from here, shrunk down)  I folded some black paper in half and traced the bats on to it.

Then I cut a bunch of the bats out with regular scissors.  This takes a bit to cut so just turn on Hocus Pocus and cut while you're watching.  You could also use a die cut machine to cut bats out.

I folded the bats in half then applied hot glue to the middle.  Then I stuck them onto the tree branches.

Then I glued small clumps of spanish moss onto the tree branches as well.  I think the moss gives it a little bit of a creepy Halloween look.   And it hardly took any spanish moss at all.  - side note- spanish moss is SUPER messy.  Be prepared to sweep and sweep and sweep some more when working with it.

To round out the centerpiece, I placed a vintage shutter on top of my dining room table.  Then I put the jar of branches and bats.  I finished the vignette with some ceramic white pumpkins.

I love the monochromatic black and white look.  It gives such a spooky vibe.

Most of the items I used were supplies that I had around my house.  If you aren't a craft supply hoarder, here are sources:   (affiliate links)

Making a Branches and Bats Table Centerpiece for Halloween from items I found around my house and yard for free was such a fun and creative exercise.    Sometimes when I challenge myself to not spend money, it forces me to be creative and then I end up loving the project even more.
