Ok, after an entire month of Halloween projects, this is my last one. I think. Maybe. I told myself I was done after our house and porch were decorated and here I am still creating things. So if I come up with more projects, you'll be the first to know! :)
How to add an image to a candle and make a Halloween Candle
I saw a candle with a cute skeleton on it online. I'm not even sure where I saw it. But it totally inspired me to make some candles. In my rubber stamping/scrapbooking days, I used to stamp images onto tissue paper and then melt them onto candles, so I figured I could do something similar with Halloween images.
I whipped up a printable sheet with a bunch of Halloween images. Right click and save to your computer and print.
In addition to the printable, gather other supplies needed: wax paper, heat gun, blank white candles
After printing out the image sheet on thin copy paper, cut the image out at the very edge of the image.
Place the image where you want it on the candle. Wrap the candle with wax paper. Then heat the image with a heat gun. Be very careful where you hold the candle because you can easily burn yourself.
Watch the image carefully as it heats. You'll be able to see the wax melt into the image. That's when you know it's done.
This is such an easy and inexpensive technique. It makes me so excited to think of all of the different candles I could make! Don't be surprised if you see candles showing up in my decorations each holiday.
