It's seems like rusty baking pans are often available at the thrift store. I for sure wouldn't use them for food, but they can be used for many other things. This post is showing how I Repurposed Cake Pans into Candle Holders.

As I was taking my weekly walk down the aisles of the thrift store, some rusty cake pans caught my eye because anything rusty makes me do a double take. I quickly threw them in my cart and moved on. Later as I went through my cart I almost put the cake pans back because rust + food = no bueno. But I decided to repurpose them into something else.
How to Repurpose Cake Pans into Candle Holders
These are the rusty cake pans from the thrift store. I think the little cake release lever is so cute and clever. Since the pans are so rusty, I gave them a coat of Matte Finish to contain the rust.
On a different trip to the thrift store, I found wooden blocks. I didn't have a specific purpose for them when I got them but as soon as I found the cake pans, I knew the blocks would make excellent legs and feet! I tried to grab 4 blocks of each size to make the legs equal. Unfortunately, one of the tall blocks was about 1/4 of an inch taller than the rest, so I had to cut that off with my saw.
How to Glue Feet to Bottom of Cake Pans
I flipped the cake pans over on my work surface and used E6000 to attach the legs to the pans. I put one leg one each side of the pan to make them steady.
I used books to weigh down the legs as the glue dried. Unfortunately, the longer blocks were still wobbly so I used epoxy to hold them on and it worked like a charm.
I put flameless candles and greenery (similar) into the cake plates and set them on top of a black shutter in a grouping on my dining room table.
I love the look of the rusty metal and wood together with greenery in my dining room. It all works so well together.
These Repurposed Cake Pan Candle Holders are great neutral decor that would work for any holiday or for every day decoration. I will be using these a lot and I'm sure you will see them all over my house!
