Life is so fun sometimes

Wow...what a week- already.  We are in our last week of summer before school starts.  I had big plans that involved having super lazy mornings, doing lots of swimming, going to the children's museum and lots of other fun activities to celebrate the end of summer.  Um yeah, then life happened!

Monday afternoon our house felt a little hot.  I thought it was just me heated up from running around doing errands in the super crazy humid Tennessee heat!  When I checked the thermostat an hour later, it was set for 73* and it was 76* in our house.  Ugh!  So I called a repairman but they couldn't come until the next day.  No problem.  We went out for dinner and then hunkered down for the night with fans and ice packs.

The next morning our house was already 85* and climbing when the repairman got here.  Turns out our A/C died and needed to be replaced.  So sad, I had no idea it was so expensive.  Still brings a tear to my eye to think about all that $$.  Anyway-they got to work installing and we laid low on the couch trying to not to sweat to death.  5 hours later, we were the proud owners of a new A/C unit. The repair people said our upstairs got up to 95*.  Yuck!!

During the installation, I grabbed a little treat to perk myself up and my lame temporary crown fell out.  So on top of our A/C issues, I had to go to the dentist to get my tooth fixed.  And would you believe it, the A/C at my dentist's office wasn't working either.  What a day.  I was so thrilled to climb into bed that night in our nice and cooled down house- only to be awoken at 1:00am by our smoke alarm chirping with a low battery signal.  Ugh!!  One of the worst days I've had in a long time!!  (To keep things in perspective-I know it could have been worse.  We are all healthy and now we have a new a/c.)

I'm still trying to catch up from everything and will soon post about my new projects.  Here is a sneak peak of what I'm working on.  Handmade necklace pendants...

chalkboard in the hall outside the kids bathroom...

summer mantle...

and I updated the wall in our living room to go with my spruced up family photo.

What have you been doing this week?  When do your kids go back to school?
