Since my husband and I have children, we usually spend Valentine's Day at home having dinner as a family. So I thought it would be fun to decorate the table and make the evening a little bit more fancy.
Since we rarely use our china and linens (aka ceramic plates and cloth napkins) I pulled those out.
I also made place cards for each table setting.
I started with these cute binder clips I found at Target. I liked the polka dot and stripes, but decided to add some glittery washi tape (from Michaels). I also tied some bakers twine and ric rac onto the clips.
Here are the steps I used to create the name card:
-cut a 2 1/2" square of dictionary paper
-mount the dictionary paper square onto a 2 3/4" square of red heart pattered paper-cut a scalloped heart from black contact paper or chalkboard vinyl
-write guests names with a chalk marker
Pretty simple but super cute- if I do say so myself! :)
I purchased some red tulips and stuck them into a wide mouth mason jar for the centerpiece. They are sooo pretty and add a hint of spring! The red chevron table matt is sewn by me, with a lazy susan from IKEA and a large Valentine's plate placed on top.
The entire table all together! Now all we need is some yummy food!!
