Check out my 3 tier tray fresh fruit storage solution and How to make a Wooden Sign with a FREE Fresh Fruit Printable
Fruit makes such a great Summer snack and nothing says summer like biting into a piece of fruit with the juice dribbling down your chin! In order for my kids to grab fruit instead of a bag of chips, the fruit has to be handy.
I used a DIY 3 tier tray and styled it with a Fresh Fruit Sign that I made from a printable I'm offering for free. And I'll show you how to make a printable into a sign and style it with easy fruit storage!
How to Make a Wooden Sign with a Printable
- have piece of wood cut to fit printable
- sand wood and wipe dust away
- apply mod podge to the surface of wood with a sponge brush, covering evenly
- apply mod podge to back of printable, covering evenly
- carefully apply printable to wood and gently smooth it with your fingertips
- Don't worry if there are air bubbles- they will smooth out when the mod podge dries.
- After it's dry, go over the top with a light coat of mod podge. Be careful when applying so the ink doesn't smudge.
- Distress sign more with ink by rubbing edges with a black ink pad
How to style 3 tier tray with fruit and Free Fresh Fruit printable
I placed my wooden sign in the top of my 3 tier tray. I also added a little faux plant for some green. I think a wooden bead strand or even a felt strand would also look cute in this top layer. Looks like I need to do some shopping! :)
I filled the bottom 2 layers of the 3 tier tray with fruit. I had to add a little bit of decor with a mini watering can with billy balls. I'm all about mixing form and fuction!
The sign kinda struggled to stay upright every time the 3 tiered tray was bumped. In order to keep the sign from tipping over, I put some poster putty onto the bottom of it.
Once I mashed the putty into the sign and into the top tier, it can withstand the bumps this tray takes from our busy family!
Keeping fruit in sight in my kitchen, helps us all to reach for a healthy snack!
And it never hurts to look good too!
Easily make a wooden sign with my Free Fresh Fruit Printable. Then you can display it with the fresh fruit in your home.
