As I was spookin' up my house, I decided that since I stand at my kitchen sink approximately 7900 times a day, I needed to be a little something, something to look at. So I made some Halloween flair - mini Wooden Signs - from scrap wood I found in my garage, to add to the sweet little plants sitting in the window.
How to make Wood Signs from scrap wood
Supply List for Halloween mini wood signs
- wood pieces
- craft paint in black, white, orange
- removable vinyl
- sand paper
- dowel
- wire cutters
- hot glue gun
I found a piece of lattice in my garage leftover from a previous project. It was about 12 inches long. I used a hand saw to cut it down into 3-3.5 inch pieces. Then I painted the wood using vinyl as a stencil.
I distressed the signs with a bit of sand paper. You know I love me some distressed wood! This is also how I made the Broom Parking sign and Haunted House sign in my Halloween Home Tour.
Then I pulled a narrow dowel from my stash and cut it into thirds with wire cutters.
I hot glued the dowels to the back of the mini signs.
Then I stuck the mini signs into my little plants.
They add just the right amount of cute Spook!
