Do you have a hard time finding the perfect gift for the people on your Christmas list? It is something that I struggle with every year. And gift giving is made even harder when you live far away from family.
This year I am getting my nieces and nephews exactly what they want - CASH! But just because I'm giving them money doesn't mean I'm not putting effort into their gifts. This year I have come up with 4 creative ways to gift money as Christmas gifts.
Supplies to make 4 creative money gifts
Christmas Ornament
Clear plastic or glass ornaments are available at just about any craft store, or even the dollar store. They make the perfect vessel to hold a bunch of rolled up cash! I saw the idea on Pinterest, but could not find the original source.
Take the top off the clear ornament. You can use plastic or glass ornaments.
Roll the bills up tightly and place inside the ornament.
Place some jingle bells inside the ornament for fun and decoration.
Place top back onto ornament. Tie ribbons and gift tag around the hanger.
Money Balloons
Balloons could not be easier to find at the store! They make a cost effective gift that is super fun too! I originally gave Birthday Balloons to my nephew many years ago. They were a hit then and will be a hit for Christmas as well!
This gift is really easy to put together, all it requires is balloons and dollar bills.
Roll bills up tightly and place inside balloons.
Blow the balloons up with a little bit of air and place inside a gift bag. You can also place a little bit of glitter inside the balloons, along with the money.
It looks like a regular gift but it has a surprise.
Don't forget to include a safety pin on the package.
Candy Canes
Candy Canes are a symbol of Christmas! They are easy to find at any store and make a great festive gift!
Fold a bill in 1/2 and then wrap it around a candy cane.
Then secure the money with a clear hair elastic.
Place all of the wrapped candy canes into a cello bag, filled with paper shred. Then tie it with a pretty ribbon.
Festive Socks
Everyone loves Christmas socks. What a fun surprise it would be to find a few bills slid into the festive footwear!
Simply buy a pair or two of Christmas socks.
Stuff some dollars into the opening of the socks.
Place socks into a cello bag and staple it closed. Then tie a Christmas tag onto the bag. Easy Peasy!
With a little bit of effort you can make a cute gift out of giving cash! And most of these things cost way less than a Christmas card. Use these 4 Creative Ways to Give Money for Christmas and make everyone on your Christmas list happy!
