We're getting close to the holiday season, so that means lots of parties and family dinners. When I host dinner parties or attend them, I like to take my dessert, because I always take dessert, on a cake stand. I think they look nice and elevate the dessert a bit. Because I have so many cake stands, I struggle to figure out how to store them all. They are super bulky.
So if you've ever wanted to have a cake stand but know how to store it afterward, I'm going to show you how to put a cake stand together temporarily and be able to take it a part again.
Gather your supplies. You will need:
- glass dinner plate
- medium glass bowl
- large glass bowl - get this glass bowl set for both sizes
- cabinet pull for dome holder
- hot glue gun
Turn the medium sized bowl over and run a thick bead of hot glue around the bottom.
Flip it over, center it on the bottom of the glass plate, and push it to attach the bowl to the plate.
And now you have a cake stand.
It's super easy to make a dome cover, all you need is a glass bowl and a cabinet pull. Flip the bowl over, center the cabinet pull and attach it to the bowl with hot glue. With only using hot glue, the cabinet pull handle is not secured onto the bowl very well. So be very careful when lifting.
If you'd like the cake stand and dome to be put together permanently, use e6000 to attach them. They will be bonded together and not come apart.
That is How to Make a Temporary Cake Stand. I think it would be so cute to make cake stands with many different dishes. You could match dishes to your party. So fun! If you make one, I'd love to see it!
