I've said it once and I'll say it again, you don't have to spend a lot of money to decorate for the holidays. Today's project cost zero dollars with a few supplies from your stash!
How to Make Heart Branches for Valentine's Day Decorations
I gathered a bunch of branches from my yard. I literally did nothing except stick them in a vintage jar. Now that's the easy kind of project I like! No cost and very little effort- yee haw!
I grabbed some construction paper from my stash and a little heart punch and went to town punching. The construction paper is pretty thin so I folded it over and punched 2 hearts at a time. I'm a time saver like that!
I dobbed a bit of hot glue onto a punch and stuck it on the tree branch. Then I dobbed a bit of hot glue onto another heart punch and stuck it to the back of the tree branch. That way the hearts are on the front and the back and it hides the hot glue. It's a little heart sandwich with a branch inside.
Once all the hearts were glued on to the branches, I stuck the branches into the jar and then placed the jar into a Valentine's vignette.
Using a few things purchased in previous years I was able to put together this Valentine's Vignette. Most everything here (except the pom pom garland and wooden hearts) is thrifted including the green cupboard, the wooden cabinet doors, the lamp, the books and the small drawer set. I always find a way to incorporate thrifted items into almost all of my vignettes.
These Heart Branches prove that holiday decorations don't have to cost a lot of money. Grab some branches from your yard and make some for your home today!
