Who says Halloween decorating needs to stay in the living room?  I always like to spread it around my house and this year took a little spooky charm into the kitchen with a super easy and totally inexpensive DIY for making Jack-O-Lantern Canisters.

These cheerful and not-so-spooky faces turned my every day jars of oatmeal, flour and sugar into something straight out of the pumpkin patch.  And the best part?  It only took a few minutes and I was able to use things I already had on hand!

Baking Center in bookshelf on kitchen counter.

In my kitchen I have a little shelf on the counter that I use for a baking center.  I filled the shelves with a few little fall touches but I really wanted a little bit more.  So that is when I decided to put little jack-o-lantern faces on my canisters.

Step 1:  Free hand draw face parts onto the back of the a piece of removeable vinyl.  I think I used permanent but it really is easier to use removeable.  If you aren't a fan of free hand drawing or need face ideas, just google it and print them out.
