It's time for my first Fall project of the season... I made a Fall Vintage Mailbox Door Hanger for my front door.
Repurposing vintage finds is totally my jam! I especially love to use them in unexpected ways!
I found this vintage mailbox at the flea market a few weeks ago.
The mailbox was in really rough shape. It was really dirty and had chippy paint all over. I cleaned the dirt and cobwebs off of it. Ew! Then I sprayed it with several coats of clear matte finish spray paint.
In the original nail holes in the back of the mailbox, I strung cotton string to be able to hang the mailbox.
I collected a faux eucalyptus bush and fall branches from the craft store. I cut the branches apart and stuck them inside the mail slot of the mailbox.
After arranging the branches, I put felt bumpers on the back of the mailbox to keep it from scratching
my door.
I strung a strip of buffalo check fabric and glittery orange ribbon through a hole on the front of the mailbox.
I hung the mailbox on my front door.
This is a fun alternative to a fall wreath on my front door!
