How to Make Framed Flag Art

As always, the first thing to do is gather your supplies.  For this project you will need:

Directions for Making Framed Flag Artwork

Thrifted frame to make a framed flag art.

First thing you need is a frame.  I like how the fabric flag fit into a 5 x 7 sized frame.  I pulled a thrifted frame from my extensive stash.  When thrifting, I always look for frames in good condition and add them to my collection.

Cut a piece of white cardstock to the frame size.

Cut a piece of white cardstock to the size of the frame.  I like using a paper cutter like this, because it makes measuring while cutting so much easier.

Fabric frame on a stick.

Grab a little flag.  They are readily available at just about any store this time of year.  If you want your flag to look old and vintage, you can tea stain it.

Cut the fabric flag off the stick.

Remove flag from the stick by taking the staples off.  You may need to trim the flag where the fabric of the flag attached to the stick.  If your flag is wrinkled, you also may need to run a clothes iron over it.

Use a tape runner with double stick tape to attach.

Run double sided tape along the back of the edges of the fabric flag and then attach it to the white cardstock.

Place flag and cardstock back into frame.

Place flag attached to the cardstock back into the frame and replace the back.
