Girls Camp takes LOTS of time and LOTS of energy from the adults to make it a highly spiritual yet fun event for the Young Women. I have attended Girls Camp in all of the roles: as a teen Young Women, as a Cabin Mom, as a Ward Young Women Leader and now as a Stake Leader. They are all challenging roles! This year as a Stake Leader, I was in more of a supportive role, which gave me the responsibility of gift giving- my favorite!
These gifts aren't extravagant. They are just simple tokens of appreciation for all of the sacrifices the adults made to be at camp for 6 days!
Gifts for Leaders at Young Women's Camp
The adult leaders we had at Girls Camp are as follows:
- Cabin Moms
- Stake Camp Committee
- Camp Hosts
- Priesthood men that help at camp
Cabin Mom Gifts
Being a cabin mom is probably one of the most difficult jobs at camp! They are the ladies that are in the cabins with the Young Women. They sleep in the same room, shower in the same showers, deal with skirmishes and tears and do so with a smile on their faces. It's tough! I feel like the least I could do was give them little thank you's each day they were at camp!
Mints
This handout is self explanatory - I placed 6 mints into a baggie with the printable.
Supplies:
Soda
I purchased several 12 packs of soda and had them available in the refrigerator at camp for the adults to get a pick me up.
Supplies:
- coupon printable
- various cans of soda in a refrigerator
Lifesavers
This one is also self explanatory- I placed 6 lifesavers into a baggie along with the printable.Supplies:
Water Bottle Vinyl Sticker
Our family loves to add stickers to our water bottles from the various places we visit, so I thought the adults might like to add one to their bottle. I made this tongue in cheek saying in the silhouette design studio and cut it from permanent vinyl. I use clear contact paper as transfer tape. I stapled the printable to the edge of the water bottle sticker.
Supplies:
- printable
- permanent vinyl
- contact paper to use as transfer tape
Take home gift
At the end of camp assembly, we had all of the cabin moms stand for a round of thank you applause and then we gave them these baggies to take home. The baggies included a container of lavender bath salts wrapped in a bag, a caffeinated beverage mix, and a love charm for the necklace they also received at a different time. I wrapped everything up in a gold polka bag and stapled on the printable.
Supplies:
- printable
- lavender bath salts
- cup to store bath salts
- clear bags
- caffeinated water mix in
- gold polka dot bags
- love charm (similar)
Stake Camp Committee Gifts
The Stake Camp Committee are the group of people who make the magic of camp happen! They sacrifice of the personal lives to prepare and attend camp. For their thank you gifts I made socks with HTV on the bottom and included a face mask, some bath soak and the same love charm the cabin moms got. I wrapped it all up in a gold polka dot bag and stapled the printable to the front.
Supplies:
- socks (similar)
- pink heat transfer vinyl
- muscle soak
- face mask
- printable
- love charm (similar)
- gold polka dot bags
Camp Hosts
We have gone to the same camp for several years and have gotten to know the people that host us. They serve us our meals and keep the place running with 150 girls around! We always make them a small thank you gift for their service!
I found some inexpensive water bottles for each of the camp helpers. I cut #camplife with my silhouette and applied it to the water bottles. I also filled them with chocolate.
- water bottles (closest I could find online)
- permanent vinyl
I found this cute wooden USA and put a heart where the campground is.
- wooden USA (similar)
- black permanent vinyl
- red permanent vinyl
Priesthood Men
There aren't enough ways to tell the Priesthood men thank you for the sacrifices they make to be at Young Women Camp for a week. They work so hard hauling water, setting up activities, hauling canoes, making late night trips to give council and blessings and so much more!
I made a simple thank you card for each of the men that included a handmade acrylic key chain with the initials of What Would Jesus Do - He Would Love and a $5 sonic gift card to stop for a drink on the way home.
- acrylic circle, jump ring, key chain ring to make key chain
- black permanent vinyl
- red permanent vinyl
- printable
- sonic gift card
These gifts aren't expensive nor are they hard to put together! But they make a great way to thank the adults that spend so much time at Girls Camp!
