I have never decorated my bedroom for Christmas before. This year I decided to break with that tradition and add some cozy Christmas touches. I love it. My husband loves it. And when my son walked in he said, "Can you decorate my room too?" How sweet is that?
It really wasn't too much work, which makes me wonder why I've never done it before? The hardest part was cleaning my room. haha!
I added a frosted Christmas garland, and a small strand of lights above our bed. I tied ribbon on the ends. I also added some pillows that I covered with plaid fabric pillow covers. I'll do a tutorial on how I make pillow covers soon.
I put a small tree (that I apparently forgot to plug in) next to our bench. I found that darling Christmas tree bucket at Walmart. I placed it on a vintage stool to give it some height. ON the wall are various photos of my husband and me over our 21 years of marriage. I love having only photo os us in here!
Above our dresser I added a wreath, tied with ribbon, to an old grain sifter. I also added some candles that I placed into glass bottles. We use the vintage wooden box to hide our charging station and other not so pretty but necessary things.
With avid readers in our family, bookshelves are a necessity! To Christmas them up a bit I hung another wreath with ribbon. Underneath I put together one of the most important parts of Christmas - a gift wrap station!
This is where I place our wrapping paper, ribbon and gift tags to make wrapping Christmas gifts so much easier! The table cloth hides my stash of gifts. My kids know (I have threatened to return gifts often enough) that they DO NOT look underneath the table.
My mom handmade that awesome quilt that's at the bottom of our bed. We can pull it up when the nights get too chilly in the winter.
I made a little vignette in this little corner by framing some buffalo check scrapbook paper, using a mini tree, and a riser with a clock that was passed down from my husband's grandmother and our initial.
Our bedroom feels so warm and welcoming when it is lit up at night!
Decorating our Master Bedroom for Christmas made with room so cozy! I encourage you to add a little cozy Christmas to your bedroom as well!
