If you saw my garage stash of wood, you would be surprised. Even I am surprised by how it has added up over time. I have so much wood leftover from projects like the shelves in my craft room, bookshelves in my daughter's room and the video game controller holder in my sons room.
I have been coming up with projects to use leftover or reclaimed wood. I have made a Farmhouse Table Centerpiece, Rainbow Table Runner and the shelves holding my Faux Vintage Cans. But I still have so much to use.
After seeing a cute little wood house in a local store, I came up with a way to make my own with some of that reclaimed wood I've been trying to use up!
How to make Wood Houses from Reclaimed Wood
Instructions for making house shapes from reclaimed wood
Take a piece of reclaimed wood. Any piece will work. Flaws in the wood will give the house character.
Measure the center of the piece of wood and mark it.
Measure down about 2 inches or so and mark it. Draw a line from the center mark to the marks on each side of the wood.
Take the wood to your saw and cut the wood on the diagonal lines you've drawn. Then cut the piece into the side house you want, between 3-6 inches. If you don't have a miter saw, you can also use a hand saw... and get your arm work out for the week.
You can also mod podge scrapbook paper onto the houses before gluing on leather hearts with craft glue.

Using up a few pieces of reclaimed wood is super simple and easy to do, by making Wood Houses. If making them is not your jam, I will have a few of these for sale in my Instagram Shop.
