Here in Tennessee, school has been back in session for almost 2 weeks. School starts pretty early here. It feels like summer still. I know sometimes students have a hard time adjusting to waking up early, a structured schedule, homework, etc. My high schooler son is chugging along...barely. Bless! Since the person in my own home struggles a bit, I know other kids are too. So I came up with a little handout and a treat bag.
Back to School Handout and Treat Bag
One of my favorite things to do is make little handouts. And since I serve in the YW program at my church, I get lots of practice in doing just that.
For this handout, I made up a little card with some advice for students as they go back to school. Get a copy here: with YW leader signature | without signature I thought of some advice that may help and found a way to say it with a little trinket. I made the card in Pic Monkey and printed them in 4 x 6 size on white cardstock.
Advice card and trinkets
- Be FLEXIBLE: hair tie (If you want to give these to a boy, you could use a stretchy bracelet or a regular elastic)
- Be dePENdable : colorful pens
- STICK to your tasks: cute stickers
- CHEWS to have a good attitude: starbursts
- Be a SMARTIE and do your homework: smarties
- PENCIL good things into your schedule: colorful mechanical pencils
These Back to School Handouts are such cute and simple little treats to give to the students in your life, whether it's the YW you serve with, another youth group or your own children.
