If you've been anywhere near the internet the past week, you have probably heard non-stop talk of goals and resolutions! Raise your hand if you've ever set the resolution to lose weight. Me too! Raise your hand if you've broken that weight loss resolution within the week and feel like a failure. Yeah, me too again!
After years of setting strict resolutions and always being disappointed in myself for my lack of sticking to it, I have figured out that setting goals instead of one time strict resolutions is the way to go. Changing that mindset has filled me with excitement for the New Year. With the fresh start, the goal setting ... dare I say this is my favorite time of year?
20 goals in 2020
This year I am setting 20 goals in 4 different areas of my life.
- Work/Blog
- Personal/Family
- Home
- fun
I thought about the things I want to improve in each area and small actionable steps I could take to get there. Some goals were big, some were small, but all of them will help me craft the kind of life I want.
Here are some questions to ask yourself as you are goal setting- What do I want to accomplish in the upcoming year? How to I want to feel at the end of the year? How do I want to feel at the end of the day? What are some things I need to do daily in order to feel that way?

In 2019, I moved and redid my craft room, continued my blogging journey, started selling my crafty stuff and hosted a Market. In 2020 I want to

- Time Block working hours and protect those hours!
- Fine tune craft room/desk area
- Open my etsy store
- Host 2 crafty markets
Personal
While I did many things, like journaling and learning about growth mindset, that helped me grow personally last year, I think this is an area I can definitely improve on.
- Go on weekly date nights with Chris
- Watch how I speak to myself - self talk is so dang important
- learn a routine to blow off steam (yoga, exercise, meditation)
- got on 1 on 1 dates with my kids
- go tech free several hours once a week and 24 hours once a month
Home
Taking care of my house has always been really important to me and I LOVE doing organizing and home decor projects. So this year I am adding to and refining a few things in my home!
- Organize master closet
- Paint kitchen back splash
- Paint or redo pantry door
- Get on cleaning schedule again
- Find new console for living room
Fun Goals
I have learned that taking care of myself (and having lots of fun in life) is so important. I want to do more living and be behind the screen less!
- Find the perfect white T shirt to wear with clothes I already have
- Get an eye lash lift
- Have a girls night at least once a quarter
- Find good gluten free flour
- Read 1 book per week
Setting goals doesn't have to be a difficult process. Just ask yourself what you'd like to achieve this year. 20 goals in 2020 is totally doable! And if you go off track, start again the next day!
